Hey there I am trying to use my korg kronos as a midi controller for the 2015 early macbook pro I bought recentlythrough usb. No matter what I do , my mac doesn't seem to see my korg kronos..
Installed all drivers..
Kronos works with my pc with no problem so nothing wrong with the usb cable.
Any idea? |

When it happened to me I took out the Kronos driver and reinstalled it. That worked for me but I do not remember how I removed the driver. |

Welcome to the forum.
Some users don't install the driver and it should work.
It's found in Users/Library/Audio/Midi Drivers.
Removal is a simply Move to Trash etc.
Currently,I've not installed the driver, but it has worked with it in the past.
Note....it will need to be installed to use the Editor software.
Make sure it's the one for a mac....
Out if interest, what software are you using ?
Best Wishes. |

First thing to do is to see if the Kronos is recognised at the USB level:
Apple menu->About This Mac->System report
On the left pane of the window, click on Hardware->USB
Now on the top of the right pane is you Kronos listed there?
If so the next thing to look for is if it is recognised as a midi device:
run /Applications/Utilities/Audio MIDI setup.app
The click menu Window->Show MIDI Studio
In the window that appears is there a box with KRONOS as it's title? Is it dimmed or bright?

In addition to the suggestion BobTheDog has given....
As an alternative check,it should also show listed using the System Preferences applet,Sound...Input.
The Kronos must be on for this.
It may help for initial installation by booting the mac first, then the Kronos.
Once this has been established, future boot order won't matter.
Connection via another usb port may help.....or even using an usb2 hub, some macs are fussy about this, but the Kronos can(or should) work via usb3 ports.
Best Wishes. |
