|
|
Dear KORG programmers,
I need (I think others, too) Lock Screen option with password. I play music every night in different places and I am not always near my keyboars. I dont want someone to touch my screen.
It would be nice to startup keyboard with password. So nobody cant use keyboard without password, or copy or steel any set, or delete anything.
You know how much time we need to make a good set, so we need to be sure that it will be safe always.
It would be nice also LOCK FOR SETS with password. So when we want to modify or copy any set, to use Password.
I need it very much, I dont know if the others... |

Agreed and I am in the same situation.
It would be a great feature to have if it's technically doable without the hassle of reprogramming the whole OS. |

At one of the Churches that I do some music work, there's a Korg arranger keyboard that sits out in the open. For a long time every time I turned it on, someone had loaded their own SET over mine which is the one that is suppose to be there at all times. Finally I bought some of those USB port blockers that pretty much block the USB port. Anybody could have access to the keyboard so a thief can just pick it up and walk away. Of course it can't stop that from happening, but it has stopped people from loading their stuff... which is why I blocked the port to begin with.
Just like anybody who can steal your laptop or iphone even though you have a pass code on them, right? Let's not assume people are that stupid! Trust me....It is common knowledge that pass codes can't chain the keyboard to the ground! That's not what they were asking...
Anyways, I would just use a USB port blocker for now. _________________ Sam

I have very important set, I worked a lot to create that set. Its important for me and for musicians that creates their own sets. Of Course I need to know that my set is always in secure.
I know that its not important for you and the others that just use the keyboard program and samples. Also for you that just use the sets that are programmed by others, I know that you don't care if somebody touches your keyboard while you are away from stage.
I am every night in different stages, so I think, it would be a good feature to lock the screen and to lock the sets with password. |

If you have a very important set, I would recommend you do what I do. Make sure you backup your sets to a Thumb Drive and a PC. Keep the Thumb Drive with you on your car keys ready to restore to any PA4x.
You should do this even with having a lock screen in case the hard disk or SSD disk file and believe me; those disks fail more than you realize.
I'm pretty vigilant backing up my data on my keybards after having been burned once. I will NOT be burned again. LOL

Bescki,
If you're on a different gig every night I don't understand why you don't take it home with you? _________________ O88, T1, Wavestation, M1r, Pa 4X 76, Proteus 1-3, Morpheus, UltraProteus, K1200, Akai S2000, DP8

Guys, I have backup of everything from my keyboard, I just don't want nobody to touch my keyboard when I am away from my keyboard. Of course I take my keyboard home when I finish.....
I just think that these features will be important for security:
- Startup PASSWORD
- Screen PASSWORD - when you are away
- Set PASSWORD - for our sets.
I am computer engineer and security is most important thing in technology.
I am sure that KORG users would be happy with this feature even you that thing that this feature is unusable. |

If you playing in places you don't trust and got engineer skills, buy something like this and install inline of main power.
Cost few dollars and few minutes installation
EDIT: here you got better for $3.36

That is a good sensible idea from Nemik.
If you want something that makes sure no one "touches" your rig with their grimy hands for any reason, try a Doberman and train him with treats every time he rips the pants or skirt off an offender! _________________ O88, T1, Wavestation, M1r, Pa 4X 76, Proteus 1-3, Morpheus, UltraProteus, K1200, Akai S2000, DP8 |
