Hi, I just picked up a microStation and I was wondering if anyone has experimented with making a rig to run it off batteries? I am often in a (self-imposed) situation where I have no access to AC power.

Thanks in advance, I'm really looking forward to playing with this keyboard!

You can buy these rechargeable battery packs:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/multi-functional-5V-9V-12V-USB-Super-Capacity-Rechargeable-Li-ion-Battery-pack-/261045993721?pt=US_Rechargeable_Batteries&hash=item3cc78dc0f9

It gives 9V, 8500mAh portable power.
mS consumes 6W an hour, so 6w:9v=667mAh.

8500mAh:667mAh= 12.74+ hours battery power.

This is an ideal little kit that will work nicely - thanks much!

My microSTATION just arrived last night and I spent an hour or so just playing around with the default sounds and I like many of them. Some of the combi patterns are a bit to middle of the road but they'll be fun to tweak.

thanks again!

Are you sure? The manual says it eats 1700mA.

That item is no longer available.

Does anyone know of any other battery pack that is confirmed to work with a Microstation?

Search for YSD-998.

I got mine from here http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Freeshipping-multi-function-5V-9V-12V-USB-li-ion-battery-rechargeable-battery-YSD-998/495595047.html.
The included 9V cable connector is too big, so I needed to solder a cable with smaller one.
Battery needs to be on for charging.

I use a Pedaltrain Volto with a radioshack cord for battery. The cord ends are
C for the MS and M for the Volto. It works great and i can plug all my pedals to the same battery.

I just use more expensive brand name standard, non- rechargeable Lithium ion bateries.
They last between 24 and 30 hours before I need to change them out.
I found no better alternatives.
Most of the name brand rechargeable lithium ion batteries lasts less than 20 hours and need to charge between 4-8 hours only to get barely get twice the life from a rechargeable.
I'll get, most times, over 3 times the battery life out of standard, non-rechargeable lithium batteries.
