|
|
Hi everyone,
I haven't bought the PA4X yet but I am a gnats away from taking the plunge.
Being fairly unexperienced with multi keyboard setups I would like to know if it's possible to use my Yamaha S90XS (88 keys) as the main (master) keyboard triggering the Korg PA4X sounds and how easy it is to configure it so.
Basically, I see myself using the S90XS keyboard most of the time with the PA4X mounted above it and using it's sounds and Arranger features. I would still like to use the sounds from both but have a preference for the Korg sounds and Arranger features but prefer the Yamaha weighted Keyboard and only intend to use the Korg keyboard for mostly lead parts or layering.
I have searched the forum and not come across any threads that cover this and would be grateful for your advice. |

soooooooo easy. One cable - BAM!
you can trigger everything from the Yammie, or just set the midi channel to layer korg upper 1-2-3 sounds, and trigger the arrangements on the PA4x - that way, you have the full 88 keys as a piano all the time, and the split point becomes a non issue. |

Cheers Dave,
That's cool, I may get back to you when I get my PA4X if I have difficulty with the configuration.
I would be interested to hear how you and others use their Arranger keyboard in multi keyboard live rigs.
Thanks again. |

would have been so much fun if these arrangers allowed to assign different keyboard sounds to an external midi keyboard..
Would allow for that real organ feeling... |

Hi Bachus,
not sure if I understood correctly, but,
On the Korg arranger you can assign sounds to an external keyboard.
It has settings for it to play it's internal sounds, it sends bank change and program changes to an external keyboard / module, or you can set it to play both internal and external same time.
I used to have my sd2 midied to my pa800 to play a few Ketron styles I had converted to Korg.
Ie I used Korg internal sounds for bass , instruments 1 to 5, and used sd2 for live drums and midi drums.
Worked quite well. _________________ best wishes
