I don't have the D-3200 any more but there is one problem i never figured out before getting rid of it over 3 years ago.
I recorded our band. Vocals, me on Korg Triton Extreme and a guitar+flute player.
Everything was good and the band asked for a CD copy. So i used the onboard CD burner to make CD's.
I made the CD's and played them back on the D-3200 in CD play mode. All was great and the sound was loud enough to make full volume too much to handle.
So the band members got their CD and later told me the sound was barely audible on their home CD player. Even at full volume it was very faint.
So the went back and redid the master and also used a feature i cannot recall by name anymore. That improved volume levels but when they got the next CD, they had to turn the volume up to full ,just to get a mid level volume sound.
The CD's all sound-checked perfectly on the D-3200 after being made, but they were very dim on my friends home stereo CD player. Their CD player played other CD's just fine, but not the ones i made on D-3200. I checked the CD formats and even tried a different format, Same result every time.
I will probably never have a D-3200 again and will likely get a computer based CD burner if i get anything. I am all Wave file now with MP3 conversion on the computer when needed. But still its one of those things i never figured out and never forgot about. |
