Hello Forum:
I consider buying a SV-1, new or used. I wonder if there is a difference between the version with the red sides and the black sides, other than the looks.
Also, I read about different types of keybeds built into the SV-1 (RH3, Farfisa, stickers). How can I tell the difference between those and does it really matter?
Thanks for some advice in advance.

Hal,
When the SV1 was first released (the red version) there were problems that some users had with the RH3 keybed that was made in China. It would retrigger incorrectly and sometimes not make a sound at low key velocities and other issues.
I own a red SV1 and have never had a problem with it.
Korg did a warranty replacement of the problem RH3 keybeds with a version made in Japan. The would put a Made in Japan sticker on the highest E note.
The black version of the SV1 has the Japan RH3 keybed in it. I don't think there are any other differences. |
