|

Hey there!
I'm a (mostly) happy E2s user, but after reading a lot of posts (and the manual) still really confused about the way storage works.
-I want more sample sets than the ROM allows. That's OK, right? Because I have a nice big SD card...
-I can use Brakio's editor to create different sample sets and load them on the SD card. If I 'EXPORT ALL' from a particular set, that set gets loaded on startup if I have the SD card in. OK.
-If I'm in a set and do some sampling with the E2s itself (recording external input), things get weird. If I EXPORT the new sample (or even EXPORT ALL, it disappears -- UNLESS I'm using the sample set that has already been EXPORT ALL SAMPLE'd, and which thus loads on startup (with the SD card in.)
-The problem is that this means I can only sample/resample into ONE set of samples, because only one can be the default that gets loaded on startup!
-...does this mean I actually need a different SD card for every set of samples?
-...does this system make sense to anyone else? Surely you're not all using just one set of samples and never resampling?
Cheers for any enlightenment you may provide, hopefully I've missed something obvious and it's actually really simple. |

Are you looking in the 'KORG/electribe sampler/Sample' folder of your SD card?
This is where exported samples and e2sSample.all file should be saved by the electribe. |

Things may have changed since I first got my ES2 but I still follow this procedure -
I make separate folders on pc *inside* the Sample folder Brakio mentions.
I save separate allsample files in each folder.
to import them is easy to navigate through the folder structure.
it was my understanding the top level within the Sample folder is where an allsample exported from the ES2.
When you boot up the ES2 it goes hunting in that location. I refer to it as Top deck.
I keep that Topdeck always clear of allsample files because if i want to mess with the allsample currently flashed in then I know if i export that allsample it will drop into TopDeck and not overwrite the allsample i still have in its own folder.
On a pc i can decide whether to move that around the card later and i will always clear that location for further experimentation.
Where possible I try and minimise need to insert separate cards - you only need one card.... |

thanks guys, I'll try this, it might be exactly the info I needed.
I haven't been saving in the KORG folder- maybe that's the root of all my problems... |
