I have a kp3 and I also have a microgranny 2.5 and a waldorf rocket. is it possible to use the kp3 to sequence either of these pieces of hardware over midi? can I also get a clock,start/stop midi signal from the computer via usb to the kp3 and send this down the midi chain?

Hi there.
First questions answer is yes. But I'm not familier with the rocket or granny.
The KP3 sends CCs and I think the rocket will receive theses. So your finger swipes and motion sequence will drive two controls on your synth. As long as they share the midi channel, you can choose which CCs from the front pannel (shift & 5 IIRC ). There is a possible 127 for both X & Y ,so you need to match these with your synths received CCs.
You can use the sample banks to trigger 4 notes also, though not as useful.
You can trigger your sample banks via your comp on the USB but..
You can't send midi clock down your kp3 midi out from your USB input. It doesn't thru the input to the output, nor has a midi thru socket. Your clock is either int or ext ,sending no clock on the latter.

Ps there is also a midi controller mode on kp3 but this isn't needed and we can stay in kp3 mode (and use the kp3 fx at the same time).
If you want to try the midi controller mode I recommend using the editor software to set it up.
We have access to more CCs this way ,with different pattern configs for the pad surface and we can change programs on our receiving device(s) with the program dial.
