Hi!

I'm thinking about buying one of these new Korg Nutubes for my ESX. Has anyone here made any experience with one? Does it actually fit?

Cheers! Very Happy

on a second (or tenth) look at it it seems, that it only fits on a pcb and not as a tube replacement by itself. bummer, I hope they'll make a tube replacement kind of thing too. Confused

Don't know much about electronics but have worked with electrics, wiring, PCB soldering for 20 years. I'll take a look thanks.

Not quite. Electrics is more domestic and commercial installations which are 240v and 415v in UK. Basic soldering and panel wiring are closer. But it looks like more in depth electronics knowledge is required for this task. I only know about a few electronics basics regarding a handful of components.

If I find anything useful I'll let you know, but could be some time yet!

ah, I see! Thanks for the explanation! I must confess I'm not that experienced with both of them. Only did some soldering until now. I bought myself the KOMA DIY Field Kit, but I'm kind of scared to burn the SMD parts when soldering Rolling Eyes

If you've never soldered, try practising on an old Pcb or buying a few cheap components to practice with, it's really easy. Just make sure you buy solder containing flux, not essential, just easier.

No problem, glad to help. Just make sure you don't use too much solder or heat the board and or components too much.

Quick tip... Depending on the components, it's often better to 'tin' them, ie, put a little solder on them before attempting to assemble. Then when you do assemble it's easier to do so and you don't need to heat everything up too long burning out components. You need to check to see if this will work for each situation beforehand though.

Good luck with your projects Very Happy

I'm curious what you'll do with those Nutubes - I hope you post some pics and stuff here when you're ready someday Smile
