I'm Looking into upgrading from my pa900, I'm thinking about the pa3x or the pa1000. I can get the pa1000 for $2000 or the pa3x fully loaded (sounds, styles, performances, etc.) for $3000. (part of what I need is looks does the pa3x look better because its more professional or does the pa1000 look better because its newer)? |

Without mentioning what are your needs for an upgrade, polling does not make sense in this question - both instruments are not comparable directly because of different category.
Good explanation about that you can you find in the thread Pa4x-"New Korg PA1000 vs PA4X".
Upgrade an unit within a category of Pa900 - especially if new design is a criterion - means to go to Pa1000.
Upgrading from one category to the next means going to P3x or Pa4x, ignoring design. _________________ kind regards

If I had the means to spend $3000, spend a little more and go to the PA4X. Which some very good features.
But that's just my opinion. _________________ The only stupid questions are the questions that have not been asked.

If you haven't mentioned the price i would have said go for the 3x.
I wouldn't spend more than 2000$ for a used 3x now that the 4x has ~3500$ new..I would also said spend a bit more and get a pa4x!It is way better than the 3x and more good looking than the 1000 ( i don't really like the pa1000 appearance a lot ).Pa3x and 4x are metal without speakers while pa1000 is plastic and with speakers built in...
If you can lower the price to ~2500$ with the set (if it fits your needs) and 256mb ram then go for it else go for 4x... |

Hi friends:
About this topic, there is another point to check, where PA 1000 is made.-
PA 3x, PA4x, are made in Italy, with a high qualified final control.-
PA 700/100 as it's predecesors PA 600/900 are made in china, with a less final control.-
So before considering prices, must take in count the place where they manufactured.-
Just a simple note: on italian kyb, wires of joystick are attached to joystick case, meanwhile chinese one wires "fly" inside de cabinet, so when you use a lot joystick, wires cut down and or you solder them again or change the joystick.-
In my country, price difference are higher than other countries, see:
PA 600 (in stock) is at US 1.050
PA 700 (arriving november / december) is at US 1320
PA 900 (in stock) is at US 1750
PA 1000 (arriving november / december) is at US 2400
PA4x international 76 (in stock) US 5025
PA4x oriental 76 (in stock) US 5325
IMHO an taking in count what i mention above, if in your countries are what most member published go for PA3x or PA4x.-
With regards

Hi Korg Fan:
If PA3x is in good condition, without any doubt i go for it.-
Although PA1000 have (just read in user manual) same sounds than PA4x, PA3x have more controls that you'll really love: sliders, 3 buttons, ribbon, EC5, and of course if it's made in Italy
Hope this helps you.-
