Are there any 01W owners out there who know how to use it with an X5DR sound module for sequencing? The X5 midi light flashes so the midi cables are rightly connected, but I can't seem to figure out how to get the X5 sounds into the 01 tracks. Any ideas? Thanks.

MIDI signals contain just digital data, things like note on, note off, key velocity, damper on/off and pitch bend, but not audio. To use the 01/W as a MIDI controller/sequencer with the X5DR and get audio from both will require an audio mixer of some sort, having at least four channels (two for each of the stereo pairs from the 01/W and X5DR). Cabling needs to be MIDI out from the 01/W to MIDI in on the X5DR and L & R audio outs from each device to the mixer inputs using jack to jack leads. Mixer outs to amplifier.

to add to voip's post, you'll have to change the midi filter setting in the 01/W to send the MIDI data externally. Can't remember offhand which page it is, but you'll see choices for "INT" "EXT" or "BTH". for the tracks that are going to the X5DR, set them to EXT. for the 01/W tracks, set them to INT. you would only use BTH if you want it to go to both the 01/W and the X5DR.
