|

Hi everyone,
I've been using the trial version of Reaper for a few weeks now with my Roland FA 06 with no problems. I've now sold that and brought a Korg Kronos 2.
I'm have trouble recording with it in Reaper. I've read that Korg don't supply ASIO drivers for the Kronos so I downloaded and installed ASIO4ALL.
When I select a new track, arm it and record I can hear the sound trough my headphones, the sound records on the bar (as small dashes) but when I playback I hear nothing.
I have Input/MIDI/KRONOS/All Channels although I've tried all other combinations and the recording soundbar goes up in red.
I have run through all the setup instructions and still nothing.
The Korg is connect to the PC by USB cable and I'm using the Realtek sound card that came with the computer.
I'm loving the Kronos so any help would be appreciated. |

I use Reaper as well with KRONOS. There is a Midi driver for the KRONOS.
Make sure you install it on your PC.
Google KRONOS Midi driver for PC and choose the page for your operating system.
That may be the issue if you haven’t done that yet. I’m not near my board so can’t give you exact settings. Let us know. |

Thank you so much mikeyd, that advice was very much appreciated.
I can now record. The only odd thing now is when I record it shows the recording in the bar but when I play it back I can't hear anything.
If I save it as a Wav file or MP3 I can hear it in Windows media player. |

That sounds like a Reaper setting if you can’t hear the recording through your speakers?
I’d check that first. I wish I could be more specific but like u say I’m not near the K. Hopefully someone else can chime in. |

Hi FA 06,
The Kronos can act as an USB audio interface, so perhaps it has ended up as your audio device in Reaper. On OSX you can find it under Preferences->Audio-Device. Select "<default system device>" for instance, or pick the external audio interface you want.
If this is the case, another option is also to use the Kronos as your audio out from Reaper by setting the appropriate audio routing in either Global, Prog or Combi mode and hearing the output from Reaper that way also. |

Thanks so much for all your help and advice Mike and Gunnar.
I have found if I set the input to Kronos and the output to HD Audio Output I can hear everything through the PC headphones.
Cheers guys
