PostPosted: Tue Dec 05, 2017 11:22 pm    Post subject: PA50SD error - OS not found - Please Help Reply with quote

I purchased PA50SD 4 years back. It had OS ver 1.02. I tried to update it to the latest ver. I am getting this error "OS not found! Insert the card with the OS, then restart the instrument" when I power on the Korg. I would appreciate if someone can help.

This is what I did:
I copied the latest OS files from this location http://www.korg.com/us/support/download/software/0/312/2454/ to my Windows 10 computer. Formatted a 4GB SD card (I used windows format command) and copied the 3 files that I downloaded into the SD card on the root. I inserted the SD card into the Korg and powered on the keyboard and I am getting this error "OS not found! Insert the card with the OS, then restart the instrument". I tried several times powering off and on using different SD card sizes 8GB and 64GB with the OS files but I am still getting the same error.

You need to Format the SD card on the pa80 First,,, then copy the OS from your computer onto SD card. Now the pa80 will be able to read the OS
cheers, Phil.

Yes. Phatt. I tried to format the SD card in the following formats(Fat32, exFat, NTFS, UDF) and then copied the 3 downloaded files from this location http://www.korg.com/us/support/download/software/0/312/2454/ on the SD card root. When I insert the SD card on the keyboard and power on the keyboard I am getting the same error message except FAT format which Korg was not able to read and the screen was frozen.

Did you solve the issue?
In case I was not clear,,,The card has to be formatted on the KEYBOARD NOT a computer.
If formatted on a computer it will not work in the keyboard.
Phil.

No. Phatt. I have not solved the problem. My Korg is not loading the OS, it is dead. No sound. Nothing working in Korg. Please help me understand how to format the SD card in the current state of my Korg.

The SD card was formatted in my Windows 10, 64 bit desktop.

I found a 2GB SD card. I formatted the SD card in FAT format in my Windows 10 computer and then I copied the 3 files from this location http://www.korg.com/us/support/download/software/0/312/2454/ on the SD card.

I inserted the SD card in the KORG and then switched on the power. I am getting this message "Load OS from SD card? Press Enter" When I pressed "Enter" on the Korg the keyboard shuts down.

Sorry I can't,, you need to ask Korg or maybe find someone who has a Korg formatted SD card with the OS.

Tiss highly unlikely any common computer format will work?
Phil.

anandvijayakumar, Of the SD card formats you've tried, there is no mention of FAT16 (may show up as FAT in the formatting options, and is worth trying).

Does the PA50 start up without the SD card in the keyboard?

Hello voip,

Without the SD card in the keyboard, if I power on the Korg PA50SD I get this error "OS not found! Insert the card with the OS, then restart the instrument"

In the Korg PA50SD manual http://i.korg.com/uploads/Support/Pa50SD-UM-ENG_634618903911880000.pdf refer page 139(Page 5-Format) section. It is mentioned that SD card is formatted in FAT.

Hi Have you solved this issue yet?

I have had exactly the same problem.

Insert sd card, press enter keyboard shuts off.

Have wasted days of my life sorting it out.

I could not load the O.S. that was provided on the Korg website.
My PA had previously had version 1.02e O.S and that is the only one that would load.

I found it here http://www.korgpa.sk/korg-pa50-sd.html

You should be able to use a card formatted on a P.C. The instructions say you can

Try it and let me know
