Is the Black and Red key issue a very limited special edition? Out of production? Maybe return again? I am in the market for one but am told that they are not available any longer. Anyone have one and do you really love it? _________________ DS-8

It was definitely a limited edition.
Not sure what the current status is in terms of availability but I was thinking about buying one for a while. They were going pretty cheap. My concern was how well I'd be able to see the keys under stage lighting conditions. I mainly play in theatres with fairly dramatic lighting effects.
I took a bit of advice on the subject and most pro players I asked were not convinced it would be a good idea - frankly neither was I. Black keys on a dark stage seemed like trouble waiting to happen.
I ended up getting the standard black one, have not regretted it for a second. Great keyboard. |

Thanks for your input. Do you know if any new product (SV) is being released in 2018? I am in no hurry to cough up the cash right now anyway. They must be planning something "new" like maybe a dual zone keyboard? _________________ DS-8

No I'm not sure what the future holds for an updated SV-1 (SV-2)? I have no idea how the economics of this would stack up for Korg, nor do I know how popular the original SV-1 was in the first place. It's pretty darn popular with this little black duck, at any rate!
Korg seem to have put a lot of time and effort into the Grandstage, so I wouldn't necessarily be holding my breath.
Happy to be proven wrong. |
