|
|
This is my first day with the Alesis Vortex Keytar controller. It controls the Minilogue just fine, but when I use it to control the Kross it keeps triggering the arpeggiator- and doing other weird things.
I can't find anything about this in the manual, because the User Guide is too small to read, even with a magnifying glass! And there's no PDF version available (not a big fan of Alesis so far)
I need to find a way to deactivate all the buttons and controls except the keys, pitch bend, octave and volume- that way it won't send all these weird random messages to the Kross.
At one point the sound got really thin sounding- no idea what parameter I triggered, but I had to turn the keytar off and back on to clear it out (there may be a better way to do this, but I can't see the manual!)
I would very much like to use this controller for a live gig in a few weeks, but not if this sort of stuff keeps happening. Anyone here have any experience with one? |

On the Kross, do you use a program or a combi?
Does it also happen when you switch off the arpeggiator on the Kross? _________________ microKORGXL, Kaossilator Pro, monotribe, SQ-1, volca fm, Kross 88 BK

I found out what was doing it. One of the knobs on the Vortex controls arpeggiator on/off.
Why would you assign a knob to do a switch's job? One of the many design flaws of the Vortex.
Sometimes the drum pads trigger the arpeggiator too. More bad design. |

Same reason you'd assign a knob to play a keytar, then complain about it. |

I reported RDRR's obnoxious comment to a moderator. But the obnoxious comment is still on the Forum. |

Report away. Suspect the mods might look at the entirety of your posts and wonder why you're wasting your time.
If keyboards aren't your thing, no drama. Stick to Scrabble or whatever suits you best. |
