Does anyone know about the maxim SD card capacity that a pa900 can accommodate? I'm planning to buy a 32 GB sd card. Is there anyone who uses SD cards in their PAs? |

I don't exactly know what's the capacity recognition is in a PA900. All I know that I have 16GB in the back (SD micro) and 16 GB in the USB port in the front. This should be plenty enough for just about everything. However, since the micro SD card has a max capacity 32GB I would assume it would recognize it.
Hope this helps you somewhat. _________________ The only stupid questions are the questions that have not been asked.

Hello Elio:
This is just a speculation because I am not 100% sure. The 64GB might an SDXC micro card. I know that the regular SD micros go only til 32 GB. Maybe that was the reason it was not recognized. The PAs might recognize only the regular SDHC cards. It might be very interesting to find out.
Another good question would be, can the PA recognize a USB Drive, and how about it's capacity.
Hello Jim:
While I was writing this post, I remembered that I had 32 GB card in my tablet. I tried this card out in the Pa900 and it does recognize it. It was a
"PATRIOT MICRO SDHC CLASS 4 - 32 GB"
Hopefully this answers your question. _________________ The only stupid questions are the questions that have not been asked.

thanks everyone - As snorkum mentioned, I also read somewhere that only SDHC cards are supported. it's good to hear that PA900 is able to support upto 32GB SDHC. Hopefully, it would support a class 10 micro sd card |

Hi Elio:
It is my experience that it is very common for certain electronic equipment not to except a memory card beyond a certain capacity. I guess Korg made the limit at 32 GB. Could be several reasons. However, 32 GB is an endless capacity in this case, since there is also a USB capcity inthe front. Unfortunately, Korg has not put it in the manual.
Also, which is unfortunate, Korg doesn't even answer e-mails anymore. I wrote three e-mails to their technical help department and never got an answer.
I guess this forum is about the best resource and help we got. _________________ The only stupid questions are the questions that have not been asked.

Unless I'm mistaken you can't actually save anything on the SD card. It is used as a dongle for certain soundsets you can buy like the Musikant...I know this is the case for the PA600 but I could be wrong on the 900.
God bless |

No. You can save anything on the SD. At this time I am using the SD card to save alll my sets, keyboard set-up, etc. I can do the same with the SD card that I can do with the USB stick.
However, I use the SD card right now only for backups of my PA900 setup. The USB I use for everything else. Both are 32GB now. So plenty of storage. _________________ The only stupid questions are the questions that have not been asked.

|

My problem was with having a 64gig SD card and a 64 gig USB stick.
Had to go to a 4 gig USB (maybe an 8 gig would work, didn't have one handy) and a 32 gig SD card, now both show up in the drop-down menu (bottom left corner) when in Play Song mode.
Now I can access the files on both. _________________ Korg PA900 |

I purchased a Samsung 128 Gb micro SD card (Class 10) for the back. Works great. I have thousands of mp3, kar and midi files at my disposal. No problems yet... _________________ Korg PA900/Korg Extreme/Korg Le/Roland GR-55/Boss GP-10/Boss RC-300
