I received my brand new MR2000s BK yesterday, and worked well initially, then while recording it got stuck on "working". Hard reboot and now "fatal disk error". Plays one song uploaded from a previous recording but can't find any others. Unable to format the drive even after factory reset. Not recognised by Mac or Windows as a usb drive Crying or Very sad
Since the Oz dealers had no more stock I bought this from Japan, and don't want to send it back. Currently doing a low level format through DOS. Can some genius advise me on exactly what type of format I should do to restore the drive to function. Fortunately I had made copies of the hidden iOS.sys file and the MR2000 logo, which I can copy onto the formatted drive, presumably just need to create the folders MR_PROJ, AUDIO, and is it PLAYLIST?
Helpful advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Just to add to this topic. My brand new Korg MR2000s packed up while recording 2 days after I got it. Just got stuck in "working". Messages such as "io error" and "fatal disk error" came up. Took out the Hard drive (120Gb SS), and was unable to access it.
Ordered a PATA 320Gb WD drive, and formatted it with Mac to Fat32, and copied the files from a friends Korg onto the drive (MR2000S.ico, MRpm.sys, auto run.inf), and made folders AUDIO, MR_PROJ, PLAYLIST.
The Korg didn't like the format and I had to reformat the drive in the Korg, but then it all worked perfectly. Just to confirm, it is not necessary to clone the disk, or create and image. The OS is in flash memory, not on the drive.
Thanks for all the tips above, made me panic less:)

Hello, the SSD hard drive on my Korg MR-2000 is failing, so I'm trying to switch to another, msata ssd drive.

The original drive uses a rare 50pin IDE connection, the only SSD model that I could find is the Green House model that's included in the Korg as standard. They're very expensive, and since mine failed quite rapidly I'm trying to change to another msata SSD.

I'm using a msata to 50 pin IDE adapter and a Samsung 860 evo drive. However I can't get it to work. No matter how I format it, when I turn on the Korg I get an error saying the drive is not FAT32. I can then format it inside the Korg, but then it's stuck on "working" and never actually formats. Did anyone manage to use a msata SSD in the Korg ?

Cheers.
