Realtime Drum Loop Sequencing with RADIAS
I discovered this by accident and it works perfectly.
Start with an initialized program.
1. Press the EDIT/YES button so it is lit up in edit mode, go to COMMON,
P02, DRUM and change it from the OFF position to the Timbre1 matching
the timbre1 you initialized, then select the drum kit # you want to use.
2. Exit the edit mode and write your program.
Now to start recording a looped drum rhythm in realtime using
the 16 numbered buttons on the RADIAS.
3. Select your drum timbre1 on the module so it flashes, then select the
ON, LATCH and STEP SEQ 1 buttons on the ARPEGGIATOR/STEP SEQUENCER.
4. Press the EDIT/YES button so it's lit and go to COMN,STEP SEQ, P15 and set
LastStep to 16 and RunMode to Loop.
6. Select the TRIGGER option from the 16Keys panel on the lower left of
the RADIAS module. Press all of the 16 buttons so they light up.
Press PAGE+ button to go to Trigger P15, STEP SEQ1. Make sure that
Note select is set to TRIGGER and all the 16 steps are on with O above
each step.
6. Now change TRIGGER to the first drum sound Drum01 ... all the 16 buttons
will be lit up and will be set to ON.
Press any key on the RADIAS keyboard to start all 16 to loop.
Press any lit button to turn it OFF or ON again. You'll hear it change in real
time. And the edit window will show you which steps are ON with an O above it.
8. Go back to the edit screen and choose another drum sound from the NoteSel.
All of the buttons will be unlit and OFF. Press a few off the 16 buttons so they
are lit up and you will hear them while it loops. Keep doing this for all the other
drum sounds you want to use to create your groove. You can edit rest/ties/gate
etc. afterwards.
9. And don't forget to WRITE and save what you've created

Anyway you could post an example of what this is? It sounds cool - I should try it, but I also kinda want to just hear what you've done with it! _________________ Radikal Technologies Spectralis II, Korg Radias, Access Virus TI polar, Roland MC-303, Korg EMX, Maschine |
