Hi everyone....New member here and In need of help...
Just purchased a Radias was marked as faulty so I knew there was a problem,
When it's turned on the pots all light up, as will the led screen but it doesn't show any text...also none of the buttons light up.
I've noticed the power adapter isn't the original, don't know if this makes any difference. Bit of a newbie so please excuse me, but any help appreciated.

First thing to check is the power supply. The original Radias power supply output was 9V AC at 3A. Note AC. The Radias will not work correctly with a DC supply. |

Did check the power supply...AC adapter Output 9v-3000mA.
Guess I need to get the unit to a repair specialist. |

My Radias recently also just came up with an empty screen and refused to boot after being unplugged for several months.
This is what I did:
Plugged the supply in in ‚On‘-Position (the OEM one has a dedicated switch), drew hot air from a hair dryer onto the supply for some minutes to get the power supply and the caps within to temperature and then powered the Radias itself on and sure enough it came to life again properly and does it since then as long as the supply is kept on working temp (meaning: keeping plugged in continously).
I suspect that the capacitors in the power supply wear out over time, not able to provide the power peak the Radias tries to draw from it during boot time any longer.
Of course this is at no means a repair, but a short term hack I did to several electronics power supplies successfully over the decades (especially when devices refuse to power up again after a longer period of power outage, as the capacitance is temperature dependent and the electrolyte in the caps is aging over time).
Also I remember having troubles with my Radias properly booting up up using one of my older Electribe power supplies, which actually share the same part number. Even if one was able to drive my Electribe it was too faulty to properly power my Radias.
I’d therefore also strongly recommend to double check/replace the power supply as the other posters proposed. |
