Awesome !! What a work you did once more ! Thank you so much !

May I ask you something ? Like an idea for a next tuto ?

Well, I always liked Vocoder units. And I've been a bit disapointed by the Vocoder effect in Kronos. I've got the Electro Harmonix 256 bands vocoder effect wich is very nice. All words are really intelligible.

So my question is : I don't know the exact number of frequencies by which the modulator is divided in the Kronos Vocoder but I'm quite sure it doesn't reach 256 ! So, do you think it is possible to improve it, in a way or another ?

Thanks.

You mean the V256? Nice. I have the Voice Box myself. Also 256 bands.

Oh yeah not even close for the Kronos Vocoder. It's only 13 bands.
You probably already know about the Response and Modulator High Mix parameters right? Those can certainly go a long way with helping with intelligibility... Not to mention having a nice thick carrier to modulate of course.
There's something else though... much like how we can chain a few GEQ's together to literally make a longer graphic EQ, can we chain a few vocoders together for more bands? The Formant Shift parameter will move the bands up or down... I'm going to do some experiments right now to see if this can potentially help with increasing band count. I don't exactly have high hopes but I'll let you know how it goes.

Yes Charles, I meant V256, a good unit. I don't have the Voice Box.

No, I don't know ! Could tell me what it is about ?

Yes, I was thinking of chaining several Vocoder effetcs ! It would be interesting to hear the results.

The Kronos versatiliy is such that it's easy to enter V256 signal in Kronos audio entries. So, it's not an obstacle !

Ah so Modulator High Mix mixes a bit of the high end of the modulator signal in with the vocoded one. It allows sibilance through for clarity on consonants.
Response controls how quickly the vocoder bands adjust their volume based on the input. So a slow response will slur your speech. I find this parameter useful for creating a faux reverb tail when using the built-in noise as a carrier.

Here's the next vid in this series on the Stereo Harmonic Chorus effect:

As usual I like branching out from standard usage
