Hi
Apologies if this is a stupid question, I am new to all of this and I do not really know what I am doing!
To connect the Electribe 2 to a laptop via USB do I need to get an Audio Interface like a FocusRite? Or should it connect straight to it with just the usb cable? I just want to be able to record what I am doing on the Electribe 2 onto Ableton if it is possible?

Its not a silly question any all, but it sounds as if you are presuming you can send audio over USB, something that the electribe does not do.
If you connect by USB this only handles MIDI and file transfer. If you want to capture the audio output you will need to connect analog audio cables from the electribe to your computer input (or yes preferably a higher quality audio interface).
