Hi,
My Korg TR 61 has developed some issues with the LCD display. I tried contacting my local dealer and they say that since TR is no longer in production they won't be able to replace the part. Is there any solution to my problem? The keyboard is in top condition other than that, hope someone can help. I have attached some images of how the LCD display looks like. Thanks.
PS - The bright yellowy thing you see in the center of the pics is actually light reflecting from the ceiling, not the LCD problem. The LCD issue is the horizontal lines going missing.

You may want to give this website a try. No screens listed at the moment but perhaps they can locate one for you.

Hi Synthoid,
Thank you for the information, I just dropped them an e-mail. I hope they will get back to me. Thank you once again.

Hi,
have you had this display apart by unbending the tabs on the back of the display that keep it sandwiched together? These lines are typical of a display where the metal frame around the glass has been undone or come loose and the LCD contacts have come out of alignment with the display board.
If you haven't had the display apart it may be worth applying downward pressure (carefully) around the outside of the screen and seeing if the missing lines reappear. If they do, you could possibly bend the tabs on the back of the display inward more to increase even pressure around the display. |

Hi SoundWerx,
I have not tried this, if it requires taking apart anything I would bring it down to the service centre and see if they could help me with it. Thanks for the idea.
