Correct me if I'm wrong but the Pa700 & Pa1000 use a parametric eq ?
Could someone explain which part of the Eq effects which part of the overall sound ? Any tips ? _________________ Gem Wk4, Technics Kn5000, Solton Ms60, Yamaha Psr K1, Korg Pa50sd, Tyros 4, Korg Pa700 |

Probably best if I explain how the Equalizer functions on your HiFi.
Graphic Equalizer (GE)
Boosts or lowers the signal level, hence volume, at set frequencies which are fixed eg a 12 band GE will have 12 level controls with each control specific to a frequency.
Parametric Equalizer
Operate very similar to a GE but with more precise and variable settings being available. The frequency and slope can be adjusted with a PE. To give an example if a PE has all but one slider pushed right down then the resultant sole frequency you can hear will have what looks like a 1/2 sine wave all be it squashed at the base, now with a PE the base of that 1/2 sine wave can be adjusted in width whereas with a GE it cannot. In practice this affects the adjacent frequency and results in more accurate and variable output
Hope this helps _________________ Biggles
