A happy new year to all OASYS users new and old.

With two OASYS, I'm thinking it's about time to upgrade their original HDs to SSDs.

While I haven't looked through this forum and will do so - I wonder if anyone has done this and can point me to an online procedure, or offer instructions here?

If I manage to do it I'll type up a procedure and ask Forum Admin to make it Sticky for future reference.

The questions I need answering are:

1. What Model SSD works?

2. What's the largest possible SSD size?

3. How to physically install it - mods, cables, ....

4. How to get that blank SSD to the latest OS with all Extension packages added

5. Any instrument calibration issues?

6. Serial number and Authorization issues (internal to the OASY and with Korg) to have the OASYS re-authorized?

While I use my OASYS all the time, I'm clueless on all of this as I've never done any of it; and would appreciate any pointers available.

Thanks!
Kevin.

I haven't done it yet. I remember this. Hit the "translate" option.

Thanks for all those pointers Mike.

I'll read through them all - but it's disappointing to see it's such an arduous task.

I couldn't find a translate button on that page - is that a feature specific to the browser you're using (I'm on Apple Safari)?

Would you happen to have any pointers to replacement HD's ( and RAM) for the OASYS? Again I don't need them right now but should be thinking about it.

Cheers,
Kevin.

Try this link:

http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=ja&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fsynth-voice.sakura.ne.jp%2Fsynth-voice%2Fhtml5%2Fcolumn11.html

I'm using Google Chrome. If that link doesn't work, give me your email address, I can send you a Rich Text (Word Pad) document with the translation.

RAM specs are on the last pages of the Parameter Guide. The above link tells what kind of HD the guy used.

Again, I haven't done a drive swap, yet. Would love to hear from anyone who has done it recently.

Thanks once again Mike - I really appreciate it. I see the translation now.

I'll be looking into this in earnest in the coming weeks/months and will report back anything new I find out.

cheers,
Kevin.
