I have downloaded this file:"Trinity241_633662427068790000.sea" on Floppy Disk. To downgrade my Trinity Plus, for making work S bank. Which is on 3.1.1 at the moment. I have the Board, have checked visually. But the system 3.1.1 won't recognise the S Bank. Please somebody can explain me how to proceed with the Floppy Disk.
I'm sure there must be some Key combinations for the Start etc. Thanks a lot guys for your help. Sad [/b]

Usually version 3 was for the Trinity's that had the MOSS board fitted (the Z1) rather than the SOLO board (Prophecy). Have you checked which board you have fitted. If it is the MOSS board then you will need to load the M bank voices rather than the S bank voice set.

Thanks a lot for your reply Neil. Well I don't have V3 version, it is only written 3.1.1 on the start up. I have opened my "Trinity Plus" yesterday, sure there is a Prophecy Board installed. But I don't have any SCSI and other holes for plug it in. So,it is only Prophecy Board. Btw, where can I find the M Bank? Yesterday I have purchased the Version 2.4.1 from U.S.A. means maybe I will have to go back to Vers, 2.4.1. But if I can find M Bank Disk, I'll do it but it looks hopeless.
I'll try to send some photos while I'm gonna open again to night. Also Photos from when it starts and the others. Cheers..

Cocoroman,

Have a look here for Trinity OS files and manuals...

http://i.korg.com/SupportPage.aspx?productid=461

I am guessing that the MOSS board was fitted to this machine (as it would have to have it installed in order for V3 OS to be installed). It was then removed and a SOLO board put in it's place which is why the OS is the wrong version for the card.
So if you reload version 2.41 which is the OS version for the SOLO board, then load in the factory PCG file for the SOLO board you should see the s: bank.

I think you are right, I purchased this one in Istanbul about in 2000, it wasn't "Trinity Plus" it was just Trinity I guess. And I remember, that guy has changed my Trinity against Trinity Plus just after two days. Saying it is better + it is a Plus etc. Obviously this guy was a friend Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad So I guess it is only with Tri Solo Board, thats why I have to go back to Vers.2.4.1 to make it work on solo mono sounds. Well, as they say, Life's a bitch..
Thx a lot for your input on this. I am a long years David Bowie Musician, please check: www.erdalkizilcay.com Cheers,

Erdal

Off topic, but respect on the Bio, Cocoroman. By the way, captcha doesn't work on the Guestbook. You might be missing a few "leads".

The guestbook link on your website uses a captcha for verification purposes.

http://www.erdalkizilcay.com/Guestbook.php

It doesn't work any more.

Hope that makes sense.

Just a few points of order, SCSI-TRI and Moss/Solo-TRI modules share the same internal 'cage', but they are separate modules entirely. The SCSI speaks for itself, not for Moss/Solo, as they are wholly unrelated.

Also note that Solo is incompatible with Moss, so if you're trying to load Solo patches onto a Moss-TRI board or vice versa you won't be able to, as Solo-TRI uses S-bank and Moss-TRI uses M-bank. They are mutually exclusive depending on the module installed (Moss-TRI OR Solo-TRI) AND the OS.

Just a quick test before you flash the OS: You say you have 3.1.1 installed... When you switch on the Trinity, do you see a very large graphic "V3" logo on the right, like this?:-

(Ignore the PBS-TRI and SCSI-TRI bit.)

If the graphic V3 logo is displayed, it means you have a Moss-TRI board installed and you're trying to load S-bank sounds into it, which it won't recognise. Otherwise, if no V3 logo is shown, it definitely sounds like you have the Solo-TRI board instead.

Differences between the two modules:-

To recognise and use the Solo-TRI board you need to flash the OS back to version 2.4.1. The procedure for doing so is shown below:-

Quote:
The LATEST Operating System versions for the Korg Trinity are:

For all Trinitys that do NOT have the MOSS-TRI option = OS v2.4.1
For Trinitys that DO have the MOSS-TRI Option = OS v3.1.2

-------

a) Firstly, obtain the two boot disks for whichever Operating
System you need. (as above).

b) Then, if you wish, save any of your custom onboard patches
(PCG data) from your Trinity onto a seperate disk for
safe-keeping and re-loading afterwards (if desired).

c) IMPORTANT:
1) Make sure you have a steady supply of power.
2) Disconnect any midi cables.
3) Lastly, don't touch anything while the disks are loading!

OK, here we go:-

1) Turn off the Trinity, and then insert Disk 1 into the Trinity.

2) Power on, while holding down the <ENTER> and <RESET> keys.

3) The Trinity will prompt for a boot disk which it should find and
from then on the procedure is automatic.

4) The only intervention that you'll be required to provide will be
the insertion of Disk 2 half-way through the process. No
confirmation is required from you after the switch... the Trinity
will find the second disk on it's own.

IMPORTANT NOTE:-

The Trinity uses FLASH ROM to hold its operating system.
While the upgrade is going on DO NOT under any circumstances press
any key or button on the keyboard, move any controller, or even touch
the screen.

Doing so may cause the upgrade to fail part-way through and should
this happen the likelihood is that your Trinity will require
returning to Korg before it will work again! Why is this? ...

...Well, the boot-code which the Trinity uses to kick off the
upgrade procedure is actually stored in Flash ROM along with the OS.
As the first thing that the upgrade procedure does is wipe the
Flash ROM, the Trinity cannot boot again until the new Operating
System has been safely installed. You have been warned. Having said
this, many Trinity users have successfully upgraded the system,
myself included.

DISCLAIMER:

People have upgraded using this advice with no problems but remember
that you do so at YOUR OWN RISK.

Remember that this is a simple procedure but can be near fatal to
your Trinity if you mess it up. If you prefer to upgrade it at a
local dealer, go that route. They should do this for free for you.
