Hi all. Just bought a Kross 2 last night - sounds really great! But I can't instantly see how I would modify the volume of individual timbres in a Combi when gigging. e.g. I might want to fade out a strings pad, or just focus on keys for a verse, or kill the keys entirely. I can see there's a lot of realtime functions for various parameters but can't see volume on there?

Welcome aboard! You are right, there is not a direct way to achieve this task. What I do is route the timbres to a gate or compressor effect and use the modwheel (or switches or foot expression Pedal if you got one) to control the mix of the sounds.
For example you can use a limiter effect that kills all the signal when wet and set it's dry/wet level to be controlled by the modwheel, in order that you make the signal dry when modwheel is at 127, bringing out all the timbres routed to that IFX.

Regards,
JJ

Thanks so much for this. I tried it - used the stereo limiter as IFX5 and included it in the chain for the timbres I want to kill. On the FX setting I set Gain to - Infinity, Wet/Dry to Dry and Amt to +100. When I set Src to Mod Wheel - it works a treat! When I set Src to SW1 it does nothing. Any help appreciated - I want to use SW1/2 to switch off timbres.

thanks again

It should work! Just check the following:
Go to C-Input/Ctrl page, then controllers tab. Select SW-1 mod or SW-2 Mod as any switch destination. And make sure you set the switch as toggle. I think they don't work because they are assigned to another function like octave up down, or in momentary mode.
