I have downloaded the new OS but am now too worried about installing it cos all i'm hearing is about bugs and problems, so where are we exactly with this update? Is it going to naff up my system or what? when can Korg give some assurance. How long will it be before they get things sorted. _________________ Pro Singer/Musician for over 30 Years |

A confident answer but doesn't address the questions _________________ Pro Singer/Musician for over 30 Years |

Because we all have different needs it is sometimes difficult to answer this type of question.
So far, I have had no problems that interfere with my band and casual playing.
Didn't "naff" up mine at all - in fact, improved it immensely.
Yes, there are a few issues incl a serious one (phantom mic) but the best way is update, give yourself time, and test it out for your purposes.
This is a major new OS version - same as going from V1 to V2.
You can always revert to V2 in an emergency.
As for what will Korg do - well of course, none of us know that.
Cheers

Thank you. My main concern is I don't want it to wipe out my existing styles and most importantly my set lists _________________ Pro Singer/Musician for over 30 Years |

Can definitely understand your concern.
My advice:-
Make sure you have time between updating and your next gig/rehearsal
Backup everything
Perform a full update as per the instructions (don't go "half way" as some have done - it gets confusing as Korg have not explained this well).
Then look at the USER banks and be aware of what your backed up SET will overwrite when re-loading - you may need to be "selective" when re-loading.
I had to do a bit of re-arranging in order for me to NOT lose some of the new sounds/styles (in USER areas).
If you have overwritten and use factory style banks in V2 then you have a bifgger job unless you are not bothered about the new styles - then of course all those NEW styles are in the Resources SET ("Pa4X NEXT Musical Resources.SET") included in the update - so you still have easy access to them for loading later....
Hope this helps a bit...
Cheers
