Is it possible to defeat the volume knob that controls the daughter board level on the NX5R?

I have a unit that must have got damaged and results in the daughterboard sounds only appearing on the left channel. The volume knob also has no effect on the volume.

I took the unit apart and noticed the plastic part that is in back of the volume pot was at an odd angle. It must have got bent at some point. I pushed it back in place but no change happened.

Would it be possible to bypass the volume pot and just hardwire the signal so it can pass fully in stereo?
