I have been reading the thread ‘Pa5X around the corner?’ with interest. To be honest, most of the discussion is for features that are quite high end and which I don’t even understand. Obviously pros have demanding requirements, but my needs are fairly simple.

I love my Pa4X, it does exactly what I want, and I honestly don’t use more than about 25% of all the built in features.

But there’s one thing I would really love, which could probably be achieved by a future OS update: the ability to play a wave file (or MP3) whilst in Style Play. There was a small thread about this previously and the general consensus was ‘why would you want that’? Let me explain.

I have an extensive library of high quality wavefile sound effects (such as seashore, animal noises, footsteps, eerie drones, ship bells, ghosts... ) and there are quite a few that I would like to use as intro or effects in some songs. Pre-loading these into a Player and hitting the play button at the right song position would be great.

I know you can (apparently) convert these all into Hit Pads and use these in Play Mode - but I have looked at the Owner Manual a few times and it is all just too complex for me to do that.

Hi there,
Have you checked to see if maybe there is a tutorial on it? Sam posted a number of tutorials on different functions.

I haven’t played around with wav files since my pa800, so a bit rusty on the subject.

Hopefully someone can help.
