Hi.
This might be a bit of topic but here goes. I am trying to recreate the elec. piano sound that was used for the intro to "I Know Him So Well" Does anyone know what make and model piano was used for the original recording. It was used a lot in the 70's and 80's.

Whitney's version uses the DX7 (or something like a TX816 module set). As does the Elaine Paige version.
This sound didn't really catch on until the early 80's (after the widespread use of the DX7). In the 70's, a Dyno-my-Rhodes preamp and harder rubber tips helped the Fender Rhodes create a sound that was similar (with enough chorus on it!) but still noticeably different.
That DX7 sound basically replaced the Rhodes almost completely during the 80's! |

Thanks that's very interesting. What a great sound that was and still is. _________________ PA1xpro/Korg O1w fd/pa4x76 Roland rd800 pk5 bass pedals and numerous useless amps mixers and othe bits of junk from the past |
