Minimoog is monophonic, so is ruled out.

Could easily be a digital virtual analogue trying to be an analogue, with the photo of the analogue synth in the background purposely placed to put you off. I'd say most virtual analogues can recreate those almost bread and butter analogu-esque sounds.

Is the synth in the photo the same synth that was used to make the sound?

It doesn't say it was recorded in one take so monophonic isnt out of the question but that 70s synth sound is unmistakable. If it isn't the minimoog then it's something emulating the original patch that was first designed on the minimoog and used in many hits in the early 70s

what was the recording from??
song, movie etc?
and when was it recorded??
that always helps on nailing it down.
I had close to those sounds with the 2600,,
you get enough effects you can make almost anything!!
I bet my multi radias setup could get close to this!!

Sounds like a Roland to me..
Its polyphonic..
Its analogue..

I think jupiter 80 could do this..
Or atleast something very close..

But then that goes forseveral other Roland synths..

The author disclosed it was a VST instrument, Tone2 Icarus.

Pictured is Moog analog drum machine from 1970, custom built for Eric Siday using six 701 Drum and one 702 Percussion modules.

I had a feeling that it was a vsti after they basically told me I won't get the the answer, but I was already mentally committed to submitting my (educated) guess, as I'm a sucker for trivia quizzes Very Happy
