Hello,

It is possible to connect a touchscreen as a second monitor, to a Windows PC.
So, I would like to know if anyone has already use the Kronos Editor on such a monitor ? (wich would be very convenient in order to edit Prog or Combi without Ipad)

Thank you.

Hélas the touch screen I had bought some years ago has its touch function no more compatible with Windows 10 ( The company has never updated its driver).
I hope you are more lucky than me

Hey Liviou - I don't normally use the Kronos Editor with touch (actually I don't use the editor much at all as I bought the Kronos in an effort to further remove PCs from my music workflow). But I have a Windows 10 laptop with touch screen and I just tried it out for you.

The good news is everything I tried seemed to work. The editor responded to the touch commands.

The bad news is that this editor was not really "designed for touch." By that I mean a lot of the controls are pretty small and close together. Some things that if it were designed for touch could be sliders instead pop up drop down menus. Things like that. So while it works, I wouldn't really consider it to be a great touch experience. The things that are dials and sliders (e.g. like the amp control) do work - you can drag them with your finger.

I would open up the editor and imagine yourself touching things. If you feel like it would be workable for you then, technically, it does work.

Hope that helps.

Very, very interesting and thank you for the try you did. In fact I'm using Wii pen for editing on the Kronos display. My goal would have been to use a really larger display finger-usable. But if I must go on using a pen for some controls, I'm not sure it's a real bargain !!

You're welcome. If it were me, I'd spend the money on an iPad instead if you don't already have one. Then run the editor on the PC and use something like Splashtop to use the editor via the iPad screen. IMO it would be much more fluid because you're able to pinch to zoom in and out when needed very easily. I can test this for you too if you like. (Again, barely use the K editor).

The other nice thing about an iPad is you can plug it directly into the K via the camera connection kit and get some add'l boutique synth types missing from the K (granular, wavetable, etc.) and control them with Kronos, and also get full DAWs like Cubasis or Auria to supplement the sequencer. Niche MIDI note sequencers... etc. Fun things that work with the K.

Just 2 cents. Smile
