Hi,

I tried to re-assign a different sound to UP3 layer in a Keyboard set on my PA4x, but it seems that factory effects are not brought in with the newly selected sound.

For example, when I choose one of EPs which has a nice set of effects in the Sound mode, the same EP does not sound the same in a Keyboard Set mainly because it does not have the same effects applied.

Is there a way of importing a factory sound, together with its original effects from the Sound mode, into one of the sounds in the Keyboard set (UP1, UP2 or UP3)?

Also, is it possible for each of the sounds in a Keyboard Set to have a different set of effects, or one sets of effect applies to all the sounds in a keyboard set?

Thanks,
Denis

Only the Upper1 sound brings it's fx.for upper2 and 3 you will have to use upper1's master effects or use an Insert effect .
Alternately ,you can copy all effects from the sound or Keyboard set you want before starting building the keyboard set,and just paste them at the end, after all sounds are already placed .

Thanks for the info. I guess I’ll have to play with the insert FX to get as close as possible to the original sound. Hopefully Korg will address this limitation in the future. Thanks again.

In my opinion ,Korg doesn't seem to even think about it,since this works the same way since Pa80.
I just wish keyboard sets were at least as Triton's Combi sounds

As Korg1 mentioned effects for sounds only are linked to programs (pcg) in case sound/dk it is assigned to Upper1, what can be done with sound-editor.

Pa-Keyboards usually are played with overall-combinations (keyboard-sets), so effects are assigned to such settings. Each time kbdSet is changed, also effects are changed to effect settings of the selected kbdSet. If kbdSets are changed by selecting a single sound of a a kbdSets track, effect setting only will be changed to Upper1's effect and only if it would be selected. It would be unchanged in case selecting another sound of Upper2, 3, Lower.

For Pa keyboards its effect concept is well, because it is not geared towards the effect setting of a single sound, but applies to the effect settings of a complete keyboard set of the realtime tracks or the background tracks. It affects the setup of the last selected overall registration.

Adjusting separately setting of FX-sends can be used well so that there is hardly any limitation.
Effects are assigned to KbdSets - different effects are assignable to one Kbdset. In mixer setting (Style Play or Song Play > Mixer/Tuning > Insert FX page) select FX group, FX on/off, selected FX to sounds of realtime tracks is assignable and in Mixer/Tuning > FX Send page set volumes of Fx-send can be done.
Adjusting separately setting of FX-sends for different tracks seems to prevent no limitation.

The Triton concept, with its two oscillators used for a program or its 8 programs used for a Combinaton, is not comparable to the concept of the Pa1000. Even if five channels (IFX 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5) are available in the routing in all modes for the insert effects with subsequent two master effects (MFX1, 2), the effect organization of the Triton is not suitable for arranger keyboards with its StylePlay- or Songplay-Mode, whose realtime-soundtracks will be controlled via KbdSets.
