It's been a long time since you've produced a new sounds set for the Kronos.
The JMJ set was so great but this one, the Vangelis set, seems abolutely incredible.
Actually, you are a geat sound designer ! |
Hello Liviou, Thank you for feedback. _________________ http://www.danstesco.ro |

Really amazing work, Dan! I'm also playing with your Jean-Michel Jarre and Lead sounds packs. Your programming chops are top notch. |

Dan,
Wow, great work. I left a message for you on your site via your contact form. I would like to purchase but worried that your programs in their default positions would overwrite some programs I already have there. Any chance you could make me a PCG that stores programs in empty slots?
Best Regards,

Hi All,
A friend of mine Fred have a nice input of Spiral programs. He find that step 9 is missed and here is the solution:
Can I get your opinion on the sequence? I think that in your program,
you hesitated to use 9 notes (the ninth note remained in triplet ).
For my part it seems to me that there are indeed 9. If you want, you
can try these values in the Step Sequencer and tell me what you
think: -30 -24 -12 0 +18 +30 +48 +60 +65
I checked this settings and I admit is perfect!
Manny thanks Fred! _________________ http://www.danstesco.ro |

I've completed the installation of this excellent sound set. I highly recommend it. Great work by Dan Stesco!
It was a challenge to make space for the new programs, and to fix the combi references. My program banks have diverged from the factory bank contents over the years due to the program space shortage.
I documented the process of adapting 3rd party sound sets to non-standard program bank layouts.
I posted the instructions in case it can help anyone else. _________________ Kronos2 73, Presonus StudioLive, Cakewalk / Sonar Platinum, Windows 10 |

Not bad, but I wouldn't say it's a dead ringer for the Vangelis albums I have. There's a strong similarity to the sounds, but some refinement seems missing. I'll have to listen to the original albums and compare. Could be the EQ and other factors making it sound different. But interesting, nonetheless. |

We all would be very happy to listen to your own sound design work.
Perhaps you did a better Vangelis' sounds work than Dan Stesco ? So, please, share your sounds.
For my part, I know I'm not able to do what he did ! |

Having only gotten my first Korg instrument in February, I have zero experience designing sounds on this platform. I've worked exclusively with Kurzweil instruments for 15 years prior to getting the Kronos 2.
However, I have gotten a closer match performance of Chariots of Fire on the Kurzweil and a dead ringer for one of the tracks on Opera Sauvage, on the Kurzweil. I have not been able to recreate this sound on the Kronos, not even close. There seem to be no available waveforms that form a starting point. On the K2600RS, I based the sound on a primitive called "Third Wave" and nailed it in minutes.
I'm not saying that this pack isn't good. I myself am considering buying it, if the RAM footprint is not too large. I won't be trying to cover Vangelis, but will be using the sounds for my own compositions. |
