Quick glance shows some differences to be aware of [ Kronos vs Nautilus ]

Love Korg combi's ?

I see "only " 2 factory Combi banks in Nautilus

Kronos has 14 Combi banks total. Some factory, some User.

About 1/3 of the Nautilus Programs are also Kronos programs.

That makes sense, in that, both keyboards have the same sound engines.

Effects look beefed up to my eyes on Nautilus. I see specifc programs have their own effect Presets.

Kronos Programs also had certain FX assigned to them.

I see newer Effect Preset names for Nautilus programs. Why is this worth mentioning ?

Nautilus programs should or could sound more robust since
they now have a deeper/updated Preset list.

I noticed that the bank types are still fixed, in that the entire bank must be either EXi or HD1 and there is no ability to commingle Program types.

The banks now run A through T. Seems like there are 6 extra banks available.

Good observation. It would be user friendly to not have that strict rule of Exi or HD1 for an entire bank.

Regarding the banks, are you sure the Nautilus has more?

The Nautilus has banks A through T, which is 20 (excluding the GM banks).

The Kronos has banks INT-A through INT-G, USER-A though USER-G and USER-AA through USER-GG, which is 21.

At least by my reckoning, the Kronos has one extra bank ...

Let's not sulk our pleasure : And if the Nautilus keeps a perfect compatibility with the Kronos, it's an excellent keyboard and the price seems really decent.
And the effects list seems also a very good surprise.

Waiting to hear Korg confirm this. What about the differently numbered/named Exs libraries?

'perfect ' retro compatibility seems unlikely

Already obvious- no Karma, much different SEQ. That suggests no SNG file compatibility.

Fx mapping will be different.

I see a fair chance for Programs, and maybe some partial Combis, given the same engines.

Does Nautilus have PCG file format ? That will be the clue IMO

It does - all the file types remain the same (PCG, KSC, KSG, SNG).

Where are you seeing that the sequencer is much different? From what I can see, they’re pretty much identical. And the Nautilus manual even says it’s compatible with both Oasys and Kronos SNG files.

there are similarities and there are diff's:

Go to 30:10

Navigation is different, for example.

Good news on file compatibility . Obviously, no Karma- which I use heavily in my SNG files.

I would like to hear more demos of the expansion EXs’s (EXs301-313)
Korg has done quite some work on the sounds onboard of the Nautilus.

Btw, I noticed the main page of the Nautilus at Korg.com speaks of an eight inch screen while the specifications mention a 7” screen (plus there’s a spelling error on the main page (‘Natilus’)). Looks like someone was in a hurry to get the page up Wink
