Hi, I'm trying to bounce one midi track and one audio track to a single MONO audio track to disk.

Easy enough to make a STEREO audio track via "Bounce All Tracks To Disk"

But if I choose Mono L mode (in Sampling Set Up), it immediately defaults to Stereo.

I would prefer not to have to take the Stereo track to my DAW for conversion to Mono if possible.

Any ideas welcome.

Thanks.

need clarification :

are you in SEQ mode ?

are you working in the Audio In Sampling tab in SEQ mode ?

there is a " Mode " in this tab for stereo or mono. But it doesn't
provide " Mono L " AFAIK

I loaded up a wave to audio track 5, then played a MIDI clarinet (MIDI CH 1). I recorded them both to audio track 1. I set the input for the audio track to "L." Got my mono track. You can open up a song folder to get to the audio tracks in it.

Sorry about the quick reply, but the wife is calling me for COBRA KAI.

Thank you. Yes.

Bounce All Tracks To Disk gives 3 Mode options:

L - Mono
R - Mono
Stereo

It always defaults to stereo.

Cheers.

Hi Mike, understand the audio track 5 and midi CH1 bits. And I'll be able to extract the resultant audio track. How do I set the input for audio track to L ? Cheers.

On the AUDIO TRACK MIXER page, set the REC SOURCE to L or R.

I recommend putting a MONO-MONO effect, such as Comp-P4EQ or Limiter-P4EQ on one of your Total FX, such as TF2, which is the OUTPUT effect. Do that if you want to capture the both sides of the L/R of whatever you're recording. This will make your signal mono, hence it won't matter if your recording source is Left or Right. They will both be the same.

Save your SEQ. If you named it Test, then there will also be a Test_A audio folder. In DISK mode open up the Test_A folder. You will see the Song000 folder (and other Songs, if you have multiple). Open that and you will see folders for each audio track. In my example, above, it would be the ATrack01 folder. Open that and you will see the wave file, TRK01_00.WAV.

You can rename the wave file, but keep the ".WAV" extension on the end. I renamed my track "Mono," and the Kronos didn't know what it was until I put the .WAV extension back on it. Then it played normally.

Anyway, you can name this wave file and use the Disk Utility to copy it to where you want. This may sound complicated, but all songs with audio have these folders. They're just wave files, so do with them as you would any wave file.

Thanks for the detailed reply Mike. I'll give it a go. Seems a shame that the Bounce All Tracks To Disk option doesn't allow Mono and defaults to Stereo.

Regards. G

you are right, it does lock into L or R

Try digging into the drop down menus for other recording to HD options.

Audio/HDR Sampling setup sub menu gives you more options.
I would experiment with that.

Might not make any diff, I don't use the simple " Bounce all tracks " for HD recording.

I use " Select Directory/File to Sample". It helps my song organization.

Plus the 16 channel audio mixer, per track, has a variety of sources to route in your audio. isolating to one of them might give your mono.

Cheers Greg.I have already tried the other options. I remain confused that there is an option to choose L Mono or R Mono and then as soon as OK is pressed it defaults to Stereo. Could be a bug.....

I was just trying to get the mono file before I moved it to my DAW. But tbh I know how to do it fairly easily on my DAW, so I'll probably just take the Stereo wav from the Kronos and convert it when I upload to the DAW.

Many thanks Greg and Mike for your input.
