I stored my Kronos for some time (a year) and a few days ago I have set it up again.
Some sounds have a digital 'crackling' noise. I started editing a new program and assigned different samples to OSC1. About 50% of the samples of the SGX piano sample set have this crackling noise.
I have upgraded to the last OS version, which didn't help. I have also reloaded the PCG from the harddrive.
So I am thinking that either the SSD is corrupt or the RAM memory is damaged. I have 3GB installed (2GB + 1 GB). I tried to remove the 1GB, but then the Kronos fails to boot.
I bought the Kronos second hand and don't have any DVD's (or even a DVD player).
Has anyone else experienced 'corrupted' sample data? |

Check for dirty contacts on the audio jacks. Also the rest of the audio chain. I had something similar a few months ago. It turned out to be the pan pot on the mixer became noisy, rather than the Kronos. A couple of twists of the pot and it was gone.
