Check out the DJ Set Drum Kit.
Many of the notes have scratch sounds. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

I think there are some in the SFX programs... _________________ "To me the synthesizer was always a source of new sounds that musicians could use to expand the range of possibilities for making music."

Was it the sound of scratched vinyl being played, that was being sought, or the sound of a vinyl record's direction being repeatedly changed, back and forth?

That DJ Set drum kit has quite a few good scratch samples.
This video has a few tips how to make your own scratch sounds using a synth.
Another way is to use the Tape Echo effect on any sound in the Kronos. Have you ever noticed when it's echoing and you change the speed it makes this warbling sound as it adjusts to the new speed? If you shorten the time to a few ms, and use something like aftertouch or the ribbon to change speed, you can manually change up the playback speed of any sound or sample.
At the right settings it sounds like putting your finger on the vinyl record to change up its speed, very close to a scratch sound sometimes. Pretty fun on the SFX programs. |
