I connected my korg pa4x to the DAW (logic pro x) with usb.
mac: big sur.
i'm working with Kontakt, so when I play some keys (C, D, E#) i see that Kontakt receive all notes properly!
how can I send the transpose event to the DAW?
thanks a lot

Hi Liam
I'm not super experienced in this area - I too use my PA4X with Logic (via Roland HS5)
All I can say (confirm) is the transpose does get sent. Even in a basic sense, I sometimes MIDI my PA4X to Kronos (using Kronos as a sound device) and transpose sends and is received perfectly (i.e. Kronos becomes transposed).
Not sure if this helps at all - sorry for my lack of tech here....

thanks for response.
How can I handle transpose event in the daw or rather how can I listen to transpose message and act inside Kontakt? |

The transpose events (pressing the dedicated transpose keys) are sent as SysEx messages.
On my Korg Pa3x the messages for each transpose are:
-11: SysEx Message: 0x7f 0x7f 0x4 0x4 0x0 0x35
-10: SysEx Message: 0x7f 0x7f 0x4 0x4 0x0 0x36
...
0: SysEx Message: 0x7f 0x7f 0x4 0x4 0x0 0x40
+11: SysEx Message: 0x7f 0x7f 0x4 0x4 0x0 0x4b
Unfortunately, NI Kontakt does not support/handle SysEx messages.
One workaround could be to transform these SysEx messages to MIDI CC and route it to Kontakt. |
