Anyone have a sample of the scream that Roger Waters does at the beginning of Another Brick in the Wall Part II? My band is covering Part I into Happiest Days of our Lives into Part 2 for an upcoming show and that scream is pretty iconic. I've looked for isolated vocal tracks but can't seem to find anything. Thanks!

not surprising, studio songs, tracks, vocals tend to be copyright.

you might try clipping it from the recording [itunes] into Audacity.

from there, trim away everything but the scream.

save the audio file. bring the file in as an audio track, or a sample [ ? }

would guess this approach has been done before.

I think u are ok, legally, since you are doing cover stuff for a venue.

Thanks for the tip, I did try that previously but unfortunately some of the drum sounds sit in the same frequency so I can't get a good isolated sound.

If you're willing to put in a little work manipulating samples, some of these are good starting points:

sorry to read that, I wasn't aware of the mix .

Unfortunately there is no software to isolate when vocal and drums are in the same channel. I have tried filtering software with similar songs.

I know there are some VST which isolate voices from a mix.
Honnestly, I've never use them.

For example : iZOtope RX 8 : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g90-D7r0Gmw

There is one in Audacity : https://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Vocal_Removal_Plug-ins
I don't know if it worths it.

You may also want to check out PEEL by Zplane which isolates audio in an interesting way. Check out some of the Youtube demos if you're interested. It's kind of freaky.

Cheers,
Larry

I was in a Pink Floyd Tribute band and used the stock scream sound in the GM bank, but added EFX to it to make it louder and it worked well during our performances. I used an M50 to do it, so you would likely have the similar, if not same, sound that I used.

I belive that i also added Compression to it so it would sustain a bit more. I also assigned it to a specific key on the keybed because I was doing lots of other sounds as well.

Grace,
Harry

You probably have this solved by now. Been a while since I logged in and looked around. But, just in case.
I used, I think, a scream out of my Roland RD800 and did some manipulation. I still have the sample if you want it. PM me.
