I have a few songs saved in the sequencer section. Recently the band I’m working with has decided to tune everything down a half step. I’m operating in the set list mode and have the song edited down a half step. When I hit the start button the song plays as it should except the speed is now slower than it should be. Is there a way to correct the tempo?

Hello,

Except if you have WAV files in your sequence, there is no reason that the speed of your sequence change. If you change the tonality of a midi file the tempo stay the same.

Try to rout the WAV files on IFX, Stereo Pitch Shifter to down one St. and transpose each MIDI tracks from Track Param Pitch.

How would you do that exactly?

Go to Audio Routing 1, select all audio tracks from L/R to IFX 1 or other empty slot. Go to Insert Fx and select the Stereo Pitch Shifter on that slot.
Open page Ifx 1-12 to edit the Pitch Shifter:
Pitch Shifter Mode - Fast
Pitch Shift -1 for one semitone down.
Wet/Dry - Wet

Go to Track Parameter > Pitch.
Transpose all MIDI tracks to -1 except the Drums and Perc track.
Now the song must play one semitone down and keep the tempo.

Dan question...
does that pitch shifter in effects change the quality of the audio tracks as well? like for instance...if i shifted up 12 half steps, would it sound like the Munchkins? lol thanx

Short answer...yes.
Most pitchshifters will sound odd with that much pitch change. You can get by with a simitone or two. More than that will have audio artifacts.

In comparison with plug ins on DAWs : the effect of pitch shifter in the Kronos could be and should be greatly improved in the future
