Hi, guys!

Recently, I noticed that, when I output both cables to a mixer ( two mono ins ), the left channel is not present. Swapping the cables, same result. If I remove one of the cables and test the Left channel it works. So it seems that it’s not a faulty cable, it’s not the output too…it’s just when they are both out, then the left one stops. Is there something like a wrong setting in the keyboard?

Cheers

Is there a full stereo signal at the headphone out jack socket?

Does the signal coming out of the Left/Mono output on its own (no cable in R line out), contain a stereo mix, or one channel only - try panning a Program to see what happens.

Phones output is stereo. Left output has the stereo mix. It’s just that, L&R can’t work together. They work perfectly fine alone.

Hmmm, strange. It is likely that the output board needs replacing, since there is no setting that could cause that behaviour. The workaround would be to connect the mixer's inputs to Kronos outputs 1 and 2 and, in Global mode, Basic | Audio tab, set the LR Bus Indiv. Assign parameter to "1/2".

Yes, the output board needs replacement. If I connect to the 1/2 how am I supposed to control the volume?

Cheers

Use of the external mixer's controls is, of course, one way to control volume. Alternatively, the volume of the Program or Combi can be controlled by the Master volume slider, when the control surface is in RT Knobs/KARMA mode. The downside of using this is that the Progs and Combis will be at maximum volume until the slider is moved a little bit. An expression pedal could also be used, with the Pedal Input set to Expression (CC#11) in the Global menus. Alternatively, a 50k or 100k linear potentiometer, mounted in a box, and connected to a stereo (TRS) cable/jack could be used in place of the pedal. The pedal/pot method has the advantage that when a new Prog or Combi is selected, the volume will already be reduced to the pedal or pot setting. These suggestions are really "get out of jail" solutions, if an upcoming gig is looming large. Ultimately, a new output board is the solution.

Just a thought, have you tried wiggling the jacks plugs in the L and R Line Outs? There's a chance contact damage in the jack socket might be the cause of the original issue. A squirt of contact cleaner is also worth trying.

They work together only if the left cable is halfway out/in 😀

Are you using balanced cables (TRS)? I would try them if not.

It sounds like the tip connection isn’t making contact. Try contact cleaner or, if you’re brave enough, open the K up and check that the contacts are actually making contact. They may just need a little adjustment.
