|
|
After working a lot of hours with converting various complex Pa4X resources , I have found serious bugs in resources converter
of current OS v1.0 (I have made input in bugs topic).
Both Styles & custom samples of Pa4X/1000 are not decoded correctly and have critical errors that can't seen with the first look
while playing them briefly.
Therefore although Pa5X is an entirely upgraded and premium arranger with features that are mentioned in highlights sticky topic
professional Musicians that use older custom setup with Styles and sampling data for their work , are highly advised to avoid
converting older resources of Styles & Custom Sounds with samples in Pa5X until the release of newer OS that those issues will
be resolved and keep your older arranger to work with.
For those who work with factory resources , they can enjoy the superiority of Pa5X in all dimensions except some saving values
bugs and Styles Advanced edit of midi events where some functions are missing from this unfinished OS.
Hope this helps _________________ Music Conductor - Sound Engineer & Developer - Automotive SMPS/RF R&D - Electronics Engineer

Does this apply to KORG Converted Pa4X Factory Songs and Styles as well? _________________ Dave Kalbach

It is applied for every style in END1 , even with Pa5X styles if create an END1 with parallel and not fixed or no transpose mode
as all factory Styles are using END1 , have a look at my adding in Bugs topic.
But since all factory use fixed END1 , I guess you will face no problem.
Until new OS release , keyboard seems unplayable for advanced users and Style creators ... for God's sake ! _________________ Music Conductor - Sound Engineer & Developer - Automotive SMPS/RF R&D - Electronics Engineer

Thank you, but I'm still not understanding fully.
I CONVERTED my Pa4X Style Sets 1-42 (from the KORG Added Styles Packs). Are you saying these will not work properly in the 5X? I haven't really experimented with any of these.
If so, are you recommending re-converting the KORG Factory styles from the Pa4X once they update the OS? Assuming they fixed they issue. _________________ Dave Kalbach

Yep , this is the point mainly for custom styles where Ending 1 is edited , all factory styles have a fixed END1 and you might have no issues.
Bug is in Pa5X END1 code by default in OS v1.0 so the best way to test imported styles is for instance play a G major (and then minor)
in VAR4 and then enter in END1 and if tonality is correct then all are fine.
