|

I am trying to factory reset my Triton Rack. I downloaded the factory reset floppy files from the Korg site, and after wiping the Triton, holding 0+ENTER while powering up, I loaded the factory data, following the instructions in the Triton Rack manual to the letter. Everything is loaded ok, and the prog and combi names are correct, but the sounds aren't what they should be. And the same sounds are installed across all banks, except for the sample and MOSS banks. Its the same with the demo songs. The demo song names are correct, and they start/stop playing ok. But there is no sound. Possibly because the patches aren't available?
I'm at the stage now where I'm ready to rip it out of my rack, remove all the internal cards, and just start with the basic module.
I don't suppose any of you would have any ideas about where I'm going wrong with this? |

Michael, I PM'd you and sent some files for you to test.
The easy tests first:
Global MIDI Chanel 1
Sysex Controllers on etc.
Wiggle the 1/4 in cables in the audio outs, re-soider if intermittent.
Turn off, remove all Simms and EXB boards (Moss can stay installed)
Wiggle the headphone jack, re-solder if intermittent
Load preload program bank A to Internal A and test for sound.
Repeat for B C D.
Repeat for Combis
Check OS Version (I think start up Enter and 9)
Reinstall latest os version from floppy.
then reinstall exb boards
then reinstall Simm chips.
Divide and Conquer
