Have a look at eBay listings for the Yamaha EX5, and go to Advanced search, and check the completed listings box.
Looking at the price of some of the EX5s that have recently sold, $500 might be a bit on the low side, though there's no harm in asking the seller.

Oh that's a brilliant idea, thank you.
I just noticed that the knob above the volume is also missing
Update: Ok, I just tried the advance search feature (again brilliant advice) and I see a 2 of the silver special edition EX5 sold for $530 & $634. A basic EX5 sold for as low as $506, and others for $600, and high end was $799.
