How do I make the connection between this list and what appears in a bank and patch list in Cakewalk?

I note that there are many banks with mostly unnamed patches, but when selected, they DO call up a valid sound.

I wish I could post a screen shot. But basically, the lists are mostly empty. If I choose something from the blanks on the lists, I get mostly General MIDI instruments showing up on the Pa5X mixer.

Now I realize there are 8000 possible slots with 63 banks and 127 patches each. But I wonder why the instruments aren't grouped together contiguously in the first few banks until 2000 or so sounds have been listed.

If I switch a port to my KRONOS, there are only 21 banks and all of them are fully populated with named sounds.

So I'm wondering why the named sounds are spread out across 64 banks, mostly empty, with the Pa5X definition.

(I really wish someone would write a program to convert the all.KST file to .INS instrument definition file!)

If I look at the .INS file for the Pa4X, the upper banks are very sparse. Why not put these in the lower banks to fill them contiguously, like the KRONOS has?

Code:

[Korg Pa4X Bank 46]
25=Bandolim 25

[Korg Pa4X Bank 47]
25=NaturalSteel DNC 25

[Korg Pa4X Bank 48]
25=Acous.Steel1 DNC 25

[Korg Pa4X Bank 49]
25=Acous.Steel2 DNC 25

[Korg Pa4X Bank 50]
25=Real Dobro DNC 25

[Korg Pa4X Bank 127]
16=Digital Drawbars
