|
|
Hello,
I come from PA600 and there was a MIDI preset "Extern. Seq" for the connection of external sequencer. I browsed the available presets in PA1000 and didn't find anything similar. Should I then manually create the preset for external sequencer? |

Yes - but when programming a song on an external sequencer and Pa1000’s Sequencer mode it is recommended to use the supplied MIDI Presets Player1 or Player2.
If programming a Song on an external sequencer and at the same time editing right on the Pa1000 it is useful NOT TO LOAD but IMPORTING the MIDI files. That is because IMPORTING is without initializing the current sequencer setting and will not reset SMFs Settings.
Working with an external sequencer it also is useful to set LOPCAL CONTROL to OFF. So the keyboard is connected to the MIDI OUT / USB ports and do not play the internal sound generator. MIDI messages of Integrated Keyboard and controllers are sent to external sequencer and then let the sequencer send them back to the sound generator without overlapping and without MIDI echo effects.
In order to send data to the Pa sound generation, the MIDI Thru function must be activated in the external sequencer.

In case you do not modify SMFs the Pa1000's recommended mode to use is Song Play mode, because SMF lyrics, chord abbreviations etc can be displayed/used. _________________ kind regards
