It's a good idea to make sure it is formatted correctly. Korg uses Linux for it's operating system. I would think it is compatible with Windows but no use taking chances.

I formatted mine in my 5X.
My Windows 11 PC saw the card OK and after transferring the files onto the card my 5X had no trouble reading the card.
So play safe Format it in your 5X just do follow the instructions that are in the manual as it is easy to drop the card into the internals of the 5X
