There's also from time to time robots scanning the entire database. IP's from China for example seem to rip though the forum content.
Also, midnight GMT every night, there's a full database backup that will cause everything to stop dead for about 3 minutes while the backup runs.
Will still keep an eye on things though. I need some time on the forum myself to gauge things. My workload is totally mental right now and I've not even replied to any other thread in the last few days than this one so bear with me.

I had the same issue with some international IP's repeatedly crawling my local law enforcement web sites. Finally had to block the IPs ... Made a significant improvement. For me it is the loading, I can sit until the browser tells me the site is unresponsive but a refresh or two and things are rolling along again, it has been like this for a long time and it isn't always but it will happen a couple times a week. |
