So what is the next upcoming KB from korg, 40 MB of sample ram?
We are depended of the ability to make personal library of sounds.
If i want the onboard styles and sound i can buy Casio. |

Looks like many people are looking for Kronos like features in our new arranger, but, alas, it will be a long time coming, so to speak!
The only solution, now, is to get the Kronos & the PA4X!
Maybe, Pete can chime in how using the Kronos & the arranger together can complement the real KORG experience! Didn't mean to put you in a spot, ol' chap!

I'm curious why anyone in the days of cheap laptops really worries too much about RAM limits...
For probably no more than you would lose going from a PA3X to a PA4X, you could buy a laptop and a low latency audio interface.
GB's and GB's of RAM. Basically, unlimited sample size.
If sampled sounds are the largest percentage of your sounds, use a laptop, iMac, tablet, whatever. The arranger with the largest current RAM size let alone the PA4X (that's T5's 2GB, right?) is still a pale shadow of what you can get going on a laptop.
Every sound you could ever want, much higher quality sounds, all online instantly... Who needs the hassle of a small hardware sampler? |

By "we" you mean "Some of us" or "I".
It would be really interesting to actually know how many PA owners have filled up RAM with samples and need more.
Pete |
I belong to the us, as many more..
why?
Well, ii have 2GB of sample ram in my Tyros 5 and its loaded to its max, and still not all my great sounds are in there..
Now back to Pa4X soundquallity.. if you want a different piano sound(tembre) and find out that the current pa4x piano is 2GB in size, then you quickly realise that 400 MB is almost nothing with the new technollogy this PA4x offers to people..
Espescially you as a Kronos owner should now, how great the expansion of sounds are... I hav 4 high class Acoustic Grands in the Kronos, a Japanese, a German, an Austrian and an Italian... and all have their uses..
same goes for everything else, take a good saxsound with multiple articulations and long samples, with several vellocity layers for all samples it will be atleast 200MB, thats half my sample memmory for that perfect alto sax...
No really 400MB keeps the whole instrument back in the 20th century |

Bachus is absolutely right ...
FYI , the 100% of owners I know ( not only clients ) , use custom PCM samples !
A restless Musician always needs sound improvements , so there is not "we" but "all" in this research ,
even in the Giant Kronos sound libraries are insufficient ...
Custom PCM Streaming from disk support is just a few lines programming for Korg since Pa4X is
"system ready" to support it !
But maybe they reserve this feature for a next model ! _________________ Music Conductor - Sound Engineer & Developer - Automotive SMPS/RF R&D - Electronics Engineer

Pete Very Happy |
Me too I belong to the us (same category of musician). I know lot of pro musicians from different ethnicity who are in the same situation like Asena...
Pete, with all due respect for you, I don't try to argue with you but believe or not I know personally lot of musicians here in US, Europe (West and East) and Middle Eastern countries with the same needs and expectation. That is true.
Peace... |

Antonysharmman, maybe it's time to find a trusted protection method (Syncrosoft, Ilock, watermark or custom) and make your library available for Pc/Mac users ? _________________ ....... |

Cool - I was curious as it is always the same handful of owners on these forums that seem to have these RAM needs.
I was seriously curious to have an idea of how many. I guess there could be very many whom we never see on these forums.
I certainly want sample RAM but, as yet, don't need more - but you never know!!!!
Cheers

As you may know, just FYI...this forum is not the only one, there are other forums with a section for PA Korg users in English or other languages.
Cheers |

There is no audio over USB. USB is only used for data exchange and MIDI communication without a MIDI interface.
Pa4X is USB class-compliant, meaning it can send and receive data without the dedicated driver to a certain extent. There is no warranty everything would work fine without the driver, so it is strongly advisable to install it.

This is funny!
All we got from Korg is,...
There is no audio...
There is no this...
There is no that...
Only thing which will get me is to introduce sample streaming, nothing more nothing less. |

I think everyone agrees this feature is sorely missing, sample streaming of user samples...
But how many people will decide not to upgrade as long as the user memmory available for samples stays so low? I think thats a number we would like to know..
From my experience i think it will not keep many people from upgrading, but i can tell you that it will be the main discussion after they bought the instrument, can we have more sample memmory, or sample streaming.. |

Agree!!!
Guys upgrading from Pa800 or older, it may be worth,.. but us form pa3, it would be waste of money... sadly |
